With a design inspired from the K1 stadium system, KARAi delivers the highest performance level for the fixed installation market. The main system components consist of the following:
KARAi delivers a considerable number of improvements over the previous generation of line sources, particularly with regard to directivity control in the horizontal plane, transducers resources for increased operating bandwidth and coherence, vertical coverage capability and extensive choice of operation modes to accommodate various LF contour requirements. With a fixed horizontal directivity of 110° and a vertical inter-element variation up to 10°, KARAi is fully configurable to match any audience geometry. Utilizing the unrivalled characteristics of WST® (Wavefront Sculpture Technology), KARAi delivers clarity, precision, and a unique proximity effect offering the audience an incomparable listening experience. As a standalone system, its compact size and low weight complies with rigging and architectural limitations. KARAi can be deployed either as a distributed PA solution for stadium, arena, and convention centres, or as a FOH concert system for performing art centres, casinos, and houses of worship thanks to its full compatibility with the SB18i extension. The KARAi integration can be achieved for installations requiring an IP45 protection rating. The LA8 amplified controller preset library delivers an extremely advanced and precise drive system for KARAi. A wide range of system configurations are available for the sound designer and the consultant allowing high level of creative freedom. Additional features include the L-DRIVE intelligent 2-way transducer protection circuit (PEAK and RMS limiting) and the unique Array Morphing EQ interface for quick adjustment of the tonal balance of the system to reach a reference curve or ensure consistency of the system sonic signature with multiple arrays of different sizes. A single LA8 can drive up to 6 KARAi cabinets in a full range preset configuration for lead instruments, vocals and flat LF contour music material. Alternatively, KARAi can be deployed as a 3-way system with a ratio of 1 SB18i to 3 KARAi for flat LF contour, or 2 SB18i to 3 KARAi for reinforced LF contour applications. Prior to its integration, KARAi can be acoustically and mechanically modelled with SOUNDVISION 3D simulation software. KARAi models are also available for CATT® and EASE® 4.2 (and higher versions) acoustic simulation software. LA NETWORK MANAGER Software offers remote control and monitoring of amplified controllers driving KARAi via a user-friendly and intuitive graphic interface. The design of complex and sophisticated systems is made possible by the integration of the L-NET Ethernet-based Network with a capability of up to 253 units. L-ACOUSTICS® also provides control modules for external platforms as a certified member of the CRESTRON® Integrated Partner Program I2P. |
