Subwoofers: Flown or Ground Stacked? (L‑Acoustics Webinars)

While it is normal practice to fly a main system to improve energy distribution in the audience, subwoofers often remain ground-stacked because of functional limitations and alleged loss of efficiency in flown configurations.

In this webinar, our team will demonstrate that the modern subwoofers alleviate some of the practical constraints. Flown subwoofer configurations improve the energy distribution over the audience and can be even more efficient than ground-stacked configurations with equal coverage.

Measurement Quality & Representativity (Loudspeaker System Tuning)

Loudspeaker system tuning requires the acquisition of a limited number of measurements that should be representative of the response of the system over the entire audience. The positions at which the responses are captured are crucial to the task. Measurements also provide a snapshot in time that can be disturbed by noise (at low frequencies) or changing atmospheric conditions (at high frequencies).

In this webinar, we provide rational recommendations to optimize measurements for EQ and time alignment that have been derived from the analysis of a large set of measurements and simulations.
