L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound technology is a panoramic, multidimensional sound experience delivering stunning, clear, natural audio that is correctly localized to sound sources. Concertgoers have described it like feeling they are “inside the music”.

The L-ISA experience is achieved through speaker deployment and by object-based sound mixing, placing sound objects in a 3D space. Instead of hanging speakers to the left and right of the stage, speaker hangs are placed across the stage, on the sides, and even throughout the venue in order to immerse and envelop the audience in sound.

Supporting Windows® and Mac OS X® operating systems, the L‑ISA Controller is an integrated software suite that serves as the hub for all L‑ISA functionality, enabling object-based mixing along with comprehensive control and programming capabilities. All in a single application. We designed the touch-friendly user interface in collaboration with leading mixing engineers to ensure a quick workflow and programming capabilities—even for the most demanding concerts and creative applications.

The L‑ISA Controller software uniquely and remotely controls the L‑ISA Processor. The L-ISA Processor is the heart of L-ISA technology, exclusively dedicated to spatial audio processing and providing state-of-the-art object-based mixing and room simulation via a powerful multi-core architecture.

Object-based Mixing

Traditional audio mixing is the art of enhancing and combining multiple sound inputs into left and right loudspeaker sends. Object-based mixing adds a multidimensional layer to that art. An object-based mix enables instruments to be localized, scaled, and moved to their actual location or wherever the imagination desires.

Within a multi-array loudspeaker configuration, the distinct positions and separation of each object translate naturally so that a listener can perceive subtle compositions in the mix without the need for frequency tailoring or constant level riding. The graphic interface of the L-ISA Controller provides real-time feedback about the spatial balance of the mix.

Given that sound objects are mixed to locations, not to loudspeakers or busses, the properties of each sound object are independent from the specific loudspeaker layout. This enables portability from show to show as the existing source spatialization can be rendered to the new sound system configuration regardless of scale.

Spatial Audio Processing

L‑ISA research and development included extensive simulation, prototyping, and listening that yielded three proprietary algorithms to establish direct spatial connections between objects and sound for all audience sizes. These have been further refined after hundreds of large-scale L-ISA shows and feedback from world-class sound engineers. As a result of these proprietary algorithms, qualified L-ISA deployments provide an exceptional sound quality, even in arenas, to a point where audience members qualify the sound as “the best they ever heard at a live show”.

L-ISA tools provide five parameters to the mixing engineer for each sound object: PAN, WIDTH, DISTANCE, ELEVATION, and an additional AUX SEND.


The powerful snapshot engine in the L‑ISA Controller supports a wide range of programming options. Edit multiple snapshots in absolute or relative mode to accelerate programming, use snapshots in combination with groups to create multiple simultaneous trajectories, and trigger snapshots triggered Midi Program Change or Midi Time Code (MTC).

The L-ISA Controller extensive Open Sound Control (OSC) API can access additional advanced programming capabilities through various third-party applications or frameworks.

Patent-pending Room Engine

The L-ISA room engine, accessible via the DISTANCE mixing parameter, allows users to naturally re-create different room acoustics within the same venue or show. Specifically designed for object-based audio and variable space configurations, the engine uses multi-channel 3D processing to diffuse energy across many loudspeakers, eliminating audible electronic processing.

The room engine complements existing room acoustics while automatically maintaining direct sound precedence control (patent pending) to ensure precise localization for the entire audience.

L-ISA Desk Link

L‑ISA Desk Link protocol provides a seamless integration of L-ISA Controls into all major mixing consoles*, allowing engineers to access L‑ISA as an integrated element of their existing workflow. DeskLink provides advanced functionalities for mixing engineers:

  • control from mono or stereo desk input channels
  • save / recall L-ISA parameters into the desk’s snapshots engine
  • control of L-ISA Groups from desk input channels

  • master volume control on desk

L-ISA Control Plugins

The L-ISA Control plugin enables the automation capabilities of any major Digital Audio Workstation to position L-ISA objects or groups. Used in a Playback rig or for post-production, the L-ISA Control plugin can record or playback any object positioning parameter in real-time and works on the network to provide maximum setup flexibility.
