Snowjam with L-ACOUSTICS
The world’s best riders travelled to Spindleruv Mlyn in the Czech Republic to take part in Quiksilver Snowjam, FIS Snowboard World Cup race in March 2013. More than 200 world class snowboarders, including triple X-Games champion Torstein Hongmo, World Cup winners Petja Piiroinen and Roope Tonteri, Olympic champion Ulrik Badertscher and womens’ World Snowboard Tour 2013 winner, Czech Sarka Pancochova, were amongst the Slopestyle competitors, one of the qualification races to enter in to the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
Head of Production Daniel Krcmar comments: “I’m very passionate about snowboarding myself. It is exciting to participate in this season’s biggest sports event in Spindleruv Mlyn and also the biggest Snowjam in history. It is very satisfying that all visitors and world class riders enjoyed the race and the parties.”
Over the two race days concerts were hosted on both an outdoor stage and in a large party tent. The event service providers were chosen amongst Czech Republic’s L-ACOUSTICS Rental Network agents who were able to supply large inventories of equipment.
The large party tent had a capacity of more than 2000 spectators, and was open regularly until the early hours of the morning. A perfect sound system for all bands and DJs was provided by stacked L-ACOUSTICS ARCS II with SB28s, supported by 115XT HiQ flown from ceiling as delay system. The stage monitoring system was the 115XT HiQ reference wedges accompanied with SB18 for drummers and DJs. Everything was powered with 3 LA-RAKs.
The audience area of the outdoor stage was covered with two hangs each of 6 L-ACOUSTICS KARA. For the large offstage area and slope fills KUDO stacks were used in 6 and 8 elements. To provide enough LF content a total of eight SB28 were used. The whole system was powered by 4 LA-RAKs. With temperatures dropping down to -15 degrees the event was a challenge not only to crew but all the equipment as well. L-ACOUSTICS proved its reliability and endurance and worked consistently well even in very cold conditions.
