Last week at the CEDIA Expo 2025 in Denver, we unveiled a new kind of immersive audio experience right on the show floor. As a premier event for the smart home and luxury AV industries, it was the perfect stage to demonstrate the future of integrated technology. While L-Acoustics is renowned for powering live concerts for artists like Adele, the residential market was not prepared for the mind-blowing technology we brought to the show. Attending CEDIA was a crucial opportunity to connect with the integrators, installers, designers, and architects who are shaping the future of smart homes.
The Ultimate Immersive Audio Experience: Introducing HYRISS
A live demonstration of our new HYRISS Cinema Room anchored our presence at the expo. HYRISS, which stands for Hyperreal Immersive Sound Space, is an awe-inspiring and immersive technology. At the heart of the HYRISS platform is our Anima technology, an audio source dynamic spatialization feature embedded in our L-ISA processor. Anima Signatures can transform a traditional two-channel audio setup into a multidimensional soundscape, allowing the audio to move around the room with the homeowner with just a few taps of our configuration software.
Crafting a Flexible Sound Experience for the Home
The HYRISS demo aimed to demonstrate how this technology can be integrated into every aspect of a luxury homeowner’s day. Seamlessly adapting a single space for multiple uses. The demo room featured a dozen Soka loudspeakers and SB10i subwoofers for the surround channels. Nine X4i speakers for the height channel. Together, these components delivered a 360-degree spatial audio experience unlike anything the press had ever experienced before. Visitors were treated to a variety of sonic scenes and landscapes. Guests journeyed from a meditation mix for morning yoga to the ambiance of a French café at lunchtime. With just a few taps, we transformed the space from a concert hall, complete with the feeling of being a few rows from the stage, to a movie night environment with the “dryness” of an expertly integrated home theater. We even transported late-night partiers into the middle of a nightclub with loud, thumping beats. This versatility and functionality are exactly what today’s luxury homeowners are looking for. Flexible, adaptable, and open living spaces are consistently among the most desirable features in the luxury home market.
To complete the experience, the demo leveraged our LA7.16i amplified controllers to drive the loudspeakers. We were also honored to be supported by Kaleidescape, StormAudio, Barco Residential, Stewart Filmscreen, and madVR, all of which contributed to a mind-altering immersive audio experience.
The Awards Speak for Themselves
We are incredibly proud to announce that our HYRISS Cinema Room was honored with two “Best of Show” awards from What Hi-Fi? and Residential Systems! The power and performance of our system, which was built in the middle of an expo hall in just a few days, truly showcased how L-Acoustics is poised to lead the way in luxury home and yacht audio solutions.
