Wet Republic Ultra Pool at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas flips around the traditional nightlife clubbing experience with an over 6,000-square-foot daytime dancing and poolside pampering experience. A sensuous Las Vegas ambiance with a white linen palette adorned with vibrant hues of blue welcomes guests to a world-class experience full of VIP options, unique culinary offerings, signature cocktails, premium bottle service, the ultimate daytime treatment with spacious accommodations in the heart of the action, and intimate settings preferred by celebs and A-listers. The brand new 1,200 square-foot LED wall sitting overhead the DJ booth with dedicated visual performers on staff also provides guests the premium music experience you would find at the hottest nightclubs.

The Challenge

Wet Republic resides in a city ripe with multiple dance club options; the venue needed a sound system that could cater to a selective, music-loving crowd and a year-round roster of A-list DJs who would be excited and comfortable with the monitor system. The open-air location also comes with some sound leakage constraints to the local area, which was another obstacle. This hot dayclub needed a system that would tick all their boxes.

The Solution

The team decided on an L-Acoustics KARA main front-of-house system, supplemented by KS28 subwoofers for the dance floor, and an X Series system distributed around the cabanas. To ensure that the neighbors have a quiet and peaceful day that’s not inside a club, the L-Acoustics applications team precisely drew the venue and surrounding area into the Soundvision 3D acoustic simulation software. Using its highly accurate system optimization tools, they could position the system to keep the dance floor’s sound where it’s needed and not leaking into neighboring areas.

The Result

Combining the KARA front-of-house flown arrays and powerful KS28 subwoofers provided the audience on the dance floor with an energetic and engaging sound system that keeps patrons dancing all day long. The X Series system distributed around the cabanas provides sonic purity to the VIP areas or relaxing guests who want to remain in the upbeat atmosphere.
