Sound

The second episode of The Art of Sound docuseries unfolds in two parts: Collective Resonance & The Shared Experience.

Part 1 of the second film in The Art of Sound docuseries, Collective Resonance, explores why shared musical experiences have the power to bring people together. Featuring Khruangbin alongside Professor Helena Daffen of the University of York, the episode examines how music synchronizes our minds and bodies, fostering connection, belonging, and collective joy. Through the perspectives of the band and researchers, the film reveals why gathering to listen, sing, and experience sound together remains fundamental to the human experience.

Part 2 of the second film continues the exploration of music as a catalyst for human connection with Part II: Shared Experience. Featuring DJ, producer, and philanthropist Alok alongside psychologist and anthropologist Dr. Martha Newson, the film investigates how collective shared experiences—from concerts and festivals to cultural rituals—strengthen social bonds, inspire empathy, and drive positive change. Together, they reveal why shared moments of sound are more than entertainment—they are essential to building community.
