KIS International School Reignwood Park: Blending Education and Professional Sound
KIS International School Reignwood Park, a new purpose-built day and boarding school campus in Pathum Thani province, Thailand, continues the legacy of its first Bangkok campus, founded in 1988. Situated in the Reignwood Park community, about an hour’s drive north of Bangkok, the school is locally renowned as an established International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. The new 60-acre premises, designed by Rosan Bosch Studio, offer innovative learning environments for Early Years, Primary, and Secondary students. At the core of this expansive new campus lies a state-of-the-art, 1,000-seat auditorium featuring a proscenium stage. This crucial venue is designed to support diverse educational programming, from daily cohort assemblies and student presentations to full-scale theatrical and musical performances.
The Challenge
The primary goal for this multipurpose educational auditorium was to establish an audio environment that could effortlessly transition between the demands of intimate academic presentations and those of professional-grade theatrical or musical productions. The system needed to be versatile, high-quality, and, critically, reliable and intuitive enough for daily school operations and staff with varying technical backgrounds. Furthermore, the system needed to be seamlessly integrated into the Rosan Bosch Studio-designed auditorium, ensuring the sound system was “invisible” and didn’t compromise visual aesthetics or audience sightlines—a critical consideration for a prestigious facility where form is as important as function.
The Solution
Vision One, an L-Acoustics Certified Partner, was selected through an official tender process to design and install a comprehensive system that met these exacting requirements. They chose the L-Acoustics A Series specifically for its exceptional vocal clarity and versatility, which is essential in an educational venue where clear spoken presentations and musical performances share equal importance. The Vision One team utilized L-Acoustics Soundvision 3D modeling software to precisely achieve consistent SPL distribution and optimal sound coverage, ensuring the loudspeaker hangs were integrated into the architectural design without obstructing sightlines. The system’s design also incorporated an advanced Milan-AVB protocol network for robust performance and seamless redundancy. Vision One, as the complete audio-visual system integrator, ensured the A Series installation worked seamlessly with the facility’s video, lighting, and control systems, all unified under a single control platform for simplified staff management.
The Result
The newly installed sound system successfully met the dual requirements of seamless daily use and professional production capability. Comprehensive staff training and carefully designed presets for different event types (assemblies, presentations, major performances) made transitions remarkably convenient for faculty and students, boosting operational efficiency and user confidence. The modular nature of the L-Acoustics ecosystem also positions the school exceptionally well for future upgrades and evolving technical needs, ensuring long-term success. Ultimately, the system provides pristine sound clarity, reliability, and versatility that support the school’s community’s educational presentations and performance arts across all levels.
