Soundvision 3D: Conquering the Dome’s Acoustical Challenges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Smart Araneta Coliseum’s dome ceiling creates significant acoustic challenges with its tendency to produce unwanted reflections. Forscink Inc. leveraged L-Acoustics Soundvision 3D modeling software to overcome these obstacles. “Soundvision 3D was essential in helping us design a configuration that minimized reflections from the dome ceiling,” explains Adi Sajonia, Sound Engineer from Forscink Inc. “We were able to precisely calculate coverage patterns and fine-tune array positioning to deliver exceptional clarity to every seat, despite the venue’s complex acoustics.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The precision of the Soundvision 3D-generated design allowed the team to focus sound energy precisely where needed while minimizing problematic ceiling reflections, resulting in remarkable intelligibility throughout the arena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

K Series: Power-to-Weight Excellence for Demanding Arena Productions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“TJ’s intimate style of music demands a sound system that can deliver exceptional clarity and nuanced detail,” says Justin Santos, VP at Forscink Inc. “The L-Acoustics K Series provided the ideal solution to showcase TJ’s emotional vocal performances and his band’s intricate musical arrangements.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team at Forscink Inc. selected the K Series<\/a> specifically for its exceptional power-to-weight ratio, allowing them to meet the Coliseum’s strict rigging limitations while delivering the coverage and SPL necessary for the 10,000-capacity venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arena production featured a main L\/R system of 12 L-Acoustics K2<\/a> over three Kara<\/a> down per side. Two arrays of 12 L-Acoustics Kara boxes provided out-fill coverage, while six Kara speakers delivered front-fill. Sixteen SB28<\/a> subwoofers anchored the low-end, ensuring a balanced sound throughout the vast arena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA Network Manager: Ensuring a Consistent Audio Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

TJ Monterde\u2019s sound engineer Timothy Recla praised the system’s performance. \u201cLA Network Manager gave us powerful control over the entire system,” notes Recla. “The Autofilter function was particularly valuable in ensuring that audience members received the same balanced audio experience regardless of where they were seated in the venue.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This meticulous tuning allowed Recla to craft emotionally impactful mixes that translated perfectly throughout every section of the arena, from the front row to the uppermost seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
