KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – February 2025<\/strong> – Lane 23, the latest addition to Kuala Lumpur’s The Exchange TRX complex, brings together multiple entertainment spaces under one roof, each powered by a custom-designed L-Acoustics professional sound system. The venue complex, which opened in October 2024, features a ground-floor caf\u00e9 and restaurant, cocktail bar, and a 1,200-capacity nightclub where local and international DJs perform nightly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its opening, Lane 23 has established itself in Malaysia’s entertainment scene with a seven-night-a-week program featuring both established local talent and international touring artists. DJs including RIvo, Marten H\u00f8rger, Dimension, Sub Focus, Dubfire, Nastia, Danny Avila, Bangkok Invaders, Irwan and Cza, have performed at the venue, spinning house, techno, drum & bass, EDM, R&B, and hip-hop sets for the club’s growing audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lane 23\u2019s interior features acoustic treatment throughout the venue’s distinctive 50-metre-long and 11-metre-wide main dance floor, which features DJ consoles at each end of the venue, proved to be a challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working closely with Malaysian L-Acoustics Certified Provider Distributor, Digital Aid (D8 Projects) Sdn Bhd, Victor Wang and his team selected the K3 system for its perfect combination of power and precision in indoor club environments. The installation process showcased the deep technical expertise and collaborative approach that defines L-Acoustics installations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D8 Projects collaborated closely with the venue’s lighting design team to create a cohesive audio-visual environment. Using L-Acoustics Soundvision 3D modelling software, they developed a speaker placement strategy that ensures optimal sound coverage while integrating seamlessly with Lane 23’s lighting infrastructure. The result preserves both the audio performance and lighting impact that together create the club’s distinctive atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The ability to visualize and adjust coverage patterns in real-time allowed us to find the sweet spot between optimal sound delivery and lighting design requirements,” explains Henry Hari Ram, CEO D8 Projects. “We positioned the speakers to work in concert with the lighting fixtures while ensuring that every guest experiences the same exceptional sound quality, regardless of their location on the dance floor.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team at\u00a0D8 Projects carefully designed a system comprising three K3i per side for the main stage. Leaning on the K Series Panflex technology to optimize coverage, the bottom K3i have directivity set to 110\u00b0 for broader coverage, while the top two boxes use 90\u00b0 directivity to push coverage further down the 50-meter audience area. Four KS28 subwoofers are ground-stacked in front of the DJ console for powerful low-end impact essential for the club environment. Three sets of delay arrays feature A15i Focus and Wide enclosures, with the middle arrays adding a flown KS21i subwoofer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other end of the main dance floor, the venue\u2019s parlor area features two hangs of two A15i Focus and two KS28 subwoofers placed on the ground to deliver consistent sound and powerful bass, maintaining the venue’s signature sound quality. Both DJ consoles feature monitoring systems with A15i Wide and KS21i, ensuring DJs experience the same premium sound quality as their audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attention to detail extends beyond the main dance floor. The venue’s VIP area and artist hospitality space each feature A15i enclosures and KS21 subwoofers. Meanwhile, the ground-floor restaurant space showcases L-Acoustics X8i speakers and SB6i ultra-shallow subwoofers, artfully concealed within the architectural design to maintain the sophisticated aesthetic while delivering pristine sound quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
