MARCOUSSIS, France \u2013<\/strong> May 2022 \u2013<\/strong> Adding to its range of solutions designed to meet the demands of the installation market, L-Acoustics introduces Soka and its companion subwoofer SB6i. The enclosures join recent products like Syva, X4i, and the SB10i subwoofer to offer a complete range of solutions tailored to the unique needs of installation applications. As well as today\u2019s LA7.16i and Ambiance launches, Soka and SB6i extend the L-Acoustics installation-focused product range and offer exciting new creative possibilities for sound designers, interior designers, and architects to shape sound and space to their needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by the success and design principles of Syva, Soka is a unique breed of loudspeaker that combines line source technology with a sleek aesthetic. Soka integrates nine 3.5\u201d MF drivers and three 1\u201d HF transducers to impart a wide 140-degree horizontal coupled with a highly controlled 26-degree vertical directivity. Soka and SB6i are an ultra-shallow 3.9 inches\/99 millimeters, designed to be easily enclosed in-wall or discreetly mounted on-wall, yet are capable of astounding power and bandwidth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite its diminutive size, Soka delivers 124 dB over a wide bandwidth that extends down to 70 Hz when used with the full-range preset. Using the SPL preset, Soka offers an even higher 130 dB down to 100 Hz. When accompanied by its companion SB6i subwoofer, Soka descends to 33 Hz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soka is not a conventional column speaker. \u201cColinear source technology gives Soka all the benefits of line source technology: high output, extended throw, razor-sharp control, and elevated coherence,\u201d explains Germain Simon, Head of Product and Technology<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With two state-of-the-art 6.5\u201d neodymium LF drivers and the L-Acoustics Laminar vent technology found in our concert-grade reference subwoofers, SB6i is one of the most powerful ultra-compact subwoofers on the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 4-ohm enclosure can operate down to 29 Hz and produce as much as 114 dB, again via two presets, matching coupled or decoupled configuration with the main system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soka and SB6i combine format and performance. Soka alone is ideal for vocal performances or as a spatial sound system. When combined with SB6i, it will find a comfortable home as a main music system in residential, commercial, luxury, and hospitality spaces. Their discreet, elegant form and concert-grade performance are particularly well adapted to vocal and music reinforcement in architectural settings, corporate spaces, churches, museums, or artistic performances. The ultra-wide horizontal directivity and throw capacity of up to 35 meters make Soka the perfect solution for L-ISA immersive deployments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like all recent installation products from L-Acoustics, Soka hides its technical features from sight. The rear face holds all the mounting points and speaker connectors, leaving the visible face sleek and elegant. The same mounting options presented with X4i are also available for Soka, which can be mounted on a wall in any orientation with Pan, Tilt, and PanTilt accessories or integrated into the walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soka and SB6i come in the L-Acoustics signature traditional brown and white colors but can also be custom-colored with the RAL program to fit any visual aesthetic. Both Soka and SB6i are rated IP55 for virtually any indoor or outdoor installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soka and SB6i will be at ISE Booth #7Q400, Hall 7, and Infocomm Booth W3011 and will ship in Q1 2023 and Q2 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
