PHUKET, Thailand \u2013 March 2024 \u2013 <\/strong>At Caf\u00e9 del Mar, created on the Spanish island of Ibiza, music has been at the forefront of the brand\u2019s success for over four decades. Then, in 2018, another location, Caf\u00e9 del Mar Phuket, opened its doors on the island\u2019s stunning Kamala beach, attracting guests from around the globe to soak in the sun amidst breathtaking views of the Andaman Sea whilst indulging in delectable food and beverages around a spacious swimming pool. The laid-back music is so essential to the Caf\u00e9 del Mar atmosphere that it has been the inspiration for 17 compilations omnipresent, as are special festival-inspired weekend events that transform the caf\u00e9\u2019s outdoor space into a massive dancefloor for up to 2,500 people driven by sets from dance music\u2019s most popular touring DJs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facing maintenance issues from its aging sound system, Caf\u00e9 Del Mar Phuket\u2019s audio consultants approached Vision One, an L-Acoustics Certified Provider in Thailand, to discuss replacing the system with one that would fit the needs of the world\u2019s top performers. \u201cCafe Del Mar\u2019s management knew that they could rely on L-Acoustics for their renowned sonic signature, highly preferred by touring artistes and DJs,\u201d says Tanapat \u2018Tony\u2019 Mongkolkosol, Chief Operating Officer at Vision One. \u201cAs an L-Acoustics certified partner, Vision One would be able to provide swift installation services, plus superior after-care maintenance and support,\u201d explains Mr. Mongkolkosol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tony and his team began designing a system for the indoor club area using Soundvision 3D modeling software, which allowed them to present a clear prediction of how it would provide uniform coverage and SPL levels, as well as a frequency response able to support both background electronic music, and live House and Techno DJ sets. In the design, which was agreed upon in October, Vision One installed two main LR hangs of one L-Acoustics A15 Focus on top of an A15 Wide per side. One X12 speaker delivers front-fill, while three KS21 subwoofers provide thumping low-end. The installation system is driven by two LA4X amplified controllers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new indoor system fulfilled its promise, boosting the atmosphere inside the caf\u00e9 and leading management to reconsider their strategy of renting in sound systems for weekend events. With a star-studded December-to-February calendar of events to coincide with peak tourism season, they calculated the cost of rental-versus-purchase and realized that an investment in a concert-grade L-Acoustics A Series<\/a> System was a great way to elevate the venue\u2019s production value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vision One turned to Soundvision to identify which areas of the outdoor dancefloor would require fill components, aiding in swift delivery and precise deployment of the system, which features two hangs of three L-Acoustics A15 Focus and one A15 Wide per side. Four stacks of two KS21 subwoofers are placed in front of the DJ booth, with two A10 Wide boxes delivering front-fill. On either side of the dance floor, an additional A10 Wide pole mounted on a KS21 subwoofer provides rear-fill. Five LA4X<\/a> amplified controllers drive the entire system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commissioned in time for the opening party season featuring Grammy-nominated House music DJ FISHER, outdoor island revelers have since been energized by sets from high-profile DJs such as Nina Kraviz, Sven Vath, and Dubfire, all performed and delivered through L-Acoustics’ unrivaled professional sound systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
