West Midlands rental and sales company set to deliver added versatility with K Series smallest full-range enclosure<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stourbridge, UK \u2013 June 2021<\/strong> \u2013 As an L-Acoustics Rental Network partner, Tour-Tech \/ Stage Audio Services<\/a> has a long affiliation with the renowned loudspeaker manufacturer. Exclusively dealing with the business of sound within live production, Tour-Tech\u2019s philosophy has always been to invest in the best equipment to ensure their services exceed expectations \u2013 ever since they opened their doors in 1984. This promise of excellence is underlined by an extensive inventory that includes a large range of L-Acoustics cabinets \u2013 and this forward-thinking ethos persists with its recent investment in a K3<\/a> system, the first to land in the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

K3, launched in October 2020, is the latest in the renowned touring reference K Series. Designed to deliver big sound for mid-size events by providing full-range bandwidth without the need for a flown companion subwoofer, its highly efficient design reduces amplification needs. According to Tour-Tech \/ SAS\u2019s Kevin Mobberley, these benefits meant that K3 would be a profoundly useable tool and ultimately solidified their commitment to invest in the new loudspeaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although, like most of the industry, the company\u2019s business has been seriously curtailed over the past 16 months, the management team foresaw a limited window of time to financially secure a new system. \u201cWe want to be ready when the big restart comes,\u201d Mobberley notes. \u201cK3 fits a lot of criteria for us. We know we\u2019re not the largest company in this sector, but we have some great clients, and K3 will tick a lot of boxes for them. It is ideal for larger theatre shows that don\u2019t have the capacity for K2<\/a>, as well as for smaller festivals, and I\u2019m anticipating it being an exceptionally busy system for us. The fact that it\u2019s very economical on amplifier channels is also a big bonus for us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The addition of K3 is part of a larger investment in L-Acoustics products for Tour Tech \/ SAS. They took delivery of the manufacturer\u2019s latest amplified controllers, as well as a large stock of KS28<\/a> subs at the beginning of last year and are further investing in the A Series<\/a> constant curvature line source, with the delivery of A15<\/a> and A10<\/a> cabinets and P1 processors, arriving imminently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While its inventory remains dormant because of ongoing restrictions, Mobberley says K3 will be deployed for four or five festivals later in the summer – and he has several tentative bookings for which he knows K3 is ideally suited. \u201cK3 is a great choice as a side hang for arena shows, and it will be a good option for L-ISA<\/a> Hyperreal sound configurations in arenas because of its light weight,\u201d Mobberley concludes. \u201cWe also have a sales arm, Core Pro Audio, so we plan to use our K3 rental system as a demo system to help sell the product. In fact, we foresee so many uses for it; I\u2019m already thinking about buying more later in the year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
