L-ACOUSTICS systems provide consistent clarity for new Turkish music awards
An L-ACOUSTICS dV-DOSC WST® line source system took pride of place at Turkey’s inaugural TRT Music Awards at Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Centre, Istanbul, celebrating the cream of Turkey’s music industry during 2010. Turkish artists, including Sertab Erener, Fahir Atakoğlu, Erkan Oğur, İsmail Hakkı Demircioğlu and Mazhar Fuat Özkan, shared the stage with the İstanbul Music and Jazz Orchestra and the İstanbul Chamber Orchestra to present a varied programme for the evening.
The ceremony’s technical production was handled by Gramofon, which chose to use an L-ACOUSTICS dV-DOSC system provided by Turkish distributor Elit Light&Sound Technologies and rental network agent Bros Technic. After carrying out an acoustic simulation of the hall using L-ACOUSTICS’ SOUNDVISION 3D software design, the team decided to use a right/left system of 10 dV-DOSC cabinets and four SB28 subwoofers in cardioid mode per side. Configured by Bros Technics and powered by 14 LA8 amplified controllers, the dV-DOSC system delivered a strong, clear and consistent sound throughout the venue.
For monitoring, 20 112P self powered coaxials and 10 115XT HiQ active stage monitors, with ARCS constant curvature WST® line source boxes for side-fill, were used to give musicians the best possible sound on stage.
“L-ACOUSTICS and dV-DOSC have impressed us every time we’ve worked with them,” says Barış Kalem, partner and technical manager of Bros Technic. “The designs we get by using SOUNDVISION have never disappointed us. We are very proud to be part of such an unforgettable event as the TRT Music Awards.”
