QATAR: L-ACOUSTICS Representative Venuetech has supplied L-ACOUSTICS speakers to two venues at the five-star La Cigale Hotel in Doha. The first job was the Sky View Lounge Bar on the 11th floor of the hotel. For this, Venuetech supplied six L-Acoustics 108P self-powered 8-inch coaxial speakers and three SB15P 15-inch self-powered subs. "Because it is an outdoor venue we needed to supply a portable system", explained Venuetech technical director, Elie Khairallah. "The performance is incredible from these boxes; it’s small but it’s very efficient".
The second project was in the hotel’s Piano Bar, this again is an L-ACOUSTICS solution. Two 115XT HiQ’s are positioned one either side of the piano, with two more aligned in the other corners of the bar area. Four SB118 subs are distributed along the piano side. Eight 8XT’s have been positioned around the bar, four have been placed vertically in the corners of the room, with a further four positioned horizontally behind columns to give an even dispersion of the sound. Completing the speaker line up are two 112P stage monitors. The speakers are all driven by four LA4 amplified controllers.
